NOVA Open - August 14 - 8th Edition

The title says it all, but I thought I'd expand on this.

We are hosting a GT-qualifying tournament in northern Virginia on August 14. We have 64 slots for 40K and 64 for Fantasy, and both systems are filling up fast. We've received a lot of press about this tournament, and we've gained a lot of sponsorship because of it. We've got over $5K total in prizes so far, including $2K in prizes from GW alone, as well as a ton of gift certificates and stuff from the War Store, Battle Foam and Kraftmark Polymer. And this is only what sponsors have given us, so expect a lot more in the way of prizes. Also, 4 Vegas tickets will be given away (two for Fantasy, two for 40K).

The most important thing to draw from this, however, is that we will be using ENTIRELY 8th Edition for Fantasy. I've heard that a lot of Fantasy players up north ready and willing to play 8th Edition (I know my Empire army is). As far as I know, we are the first GT-qualifier to officially use 8th Edition rules, so we'll be printing out the missions and primer as soon as we get a look at the rulebook.

Just to announce that, as of last week, we have designed the Fantasy Primer for this year's NOVA Open. The format is very similar to how the 40K side is run, but with scenarios built from the new rulebook. If you're prepared for 8th edition, you'll be prepared for this tournament.

How many pts is it for fantasy?

2500 Points for Fantasy. This has changed from 2250 that we had earlier.
